Winnie Lou believes in doing right by our dogs. That’s why they make treats that

dogs go crazy for while also nourishing their body for the long run. They only use REAL, WHOLE FOOD ingredients, and focus on sustainable, organic proteins and produce from their local farmers. The team at Winnie Lou knows that our dogs are our family, and we all want them to live long, healthy, happy lives by our side


Winnie Lou Food Truck

Launched in 2018, Winnie Lou got its start as a dog food truck in Boulder, Colorado. Founders Ashlin and Dean were inspired to create wholesome, trustworthy treats using only the best ingredients. With a focus on quality and transparency, they sourced everything from the local Boulder Farmers Market and crafted each small batch by hand, Ashlin leading the way in the kitchen.


The namesakes of our company, Winston & Louis, our two dogs, are why we formed a relationship back in 2017. We fell in love with each other's dogs and then with each other.

Winnie Lou offers a wide range of delicious options, from fun biscuits and freeze-dried treats to hearty marrow bones and long-lasting chews (perfect for pups who need a little extra challenge). With something for every taste and chewing style, Winnie Lou is sure to have a treat that will delight both dogs and cats alike!

A Pup Above joined the line of products at Unleashed fairly recently and their human-grade dog food has been a huge hit. Now, they are joining us for Spring Fling as a Vendor AND a Sponsor! We are so grateful to have their support for this year's event. We have so many fun things planned like...

A Pup Above was created to make it super simple to know what’s in your dog’s bowl. Founders Ruth and Javier also believe in making food more sustainable so it’s better for humans, pups, and the planet. Their company ensures more humans and pups get to eat the good stuff.

"We’re dog parents. We go to the park. We pack plenty of doggy bags, and we want to give our pup Lola the very best. When we got Lola, we found it almost impossible to know what was in her food or where it was coming from, and that was frustrating.

Lola was the whole inspiration for A Pup Above and her parents, Ruth and Javier, worked hard to come up with a food that was good for her AND that she would actually eat. Their human-grade, lightly cooked recipes come in frozen patties and dried "cubies" that serve like a dry food but are far from the usual kibble.


On top of producing great food that dogs love, A Pup Above works to be the best they can for the planet, with 100% recyclable packaging and by using the "ugly" produce that may not be appealing for humans, after all, it still has the same number of vitamins and nutrients! They also contribute to the White Buffalo Land Trust, an organization involved with promoting regenerative farming.


A Pup Above Food


When the frozen formulas thaw, it's hard to tell that they are dog food. They look and smell like something you would cook for dinner at home! The cubies are cooked in the same way as the frozen lightly cooked, sous vide, but then slowly air dried and diced up for convenience. Bone broth is added to all their formulas; it's chock-full of nutrients but sometimes it can be hard to go through a full container before it goes bad, especially for people with a small dog. That's why A Pup Above decided to add it straight to the food. All their food is produced in a USDA inspected, human food facility. This means that all their ingredients are subject to the same standards as the human food that is produced there.

First Food

Did you know that Canidae was the first food that Unleashed ever sold? Way back in 2007, when Unleashed was still at the Flea Market, it all started with Canidae All Life Stages dog food!!


Inspiration

Canidae inspired a deep dive into pet nutrition and pet food! When the founders/owners of Unleashed were young retail employees with a new puppy, they discovered that because Canidae was so nutrient dense, they could feed our 60 lb young, active dog less of Canidae than cheaper brands. When they did the math, Canidae was actually less expensive to feed than cheaper brands over time because they had to feed so much less of it. Which also had the added benefits of less poop, and a healthier pup long-term! It was a win-win-win and such a revelation it inspired them to want to educate everyone that they could and discover more quality pet food brands!


This desire to share the knowledge that you can feed your pet healthier without it having to cost more was part of the inspiration to open a pet store! Thank you Canidae!


Since then, they have discovered many wonderful brands of pet food to offer a variety and to find something that fits everyone's needs. But Unleashed is happy to still have Canidae on its shelves after all these years!
